Alright, as much as I love John Favreau I don't want to hear anybody talk about Elf any more. The feeling that people get around the holidays, that feeling of warmth/love/family can be directly attributed to the activities of the holidays. I can remember growing up and it didn't feel like Christmas until I saw Charlie Brown turn a twig into a full blown Christmas tree with just a little decorations (although in fairness it was his friends that did that Chuck just had the foresight to see what the tree could become even if his insecure mean friends did not). People don't feel like the Holidays now with watching certain films which have become classics and for some reason Elf has become beloved. Well......here is a list of films to watch that are Holiday films for you that don't necessarily want to see Tim the Tool Man Taylor get fat and fly around in a sleigh with a farting reindeer.
Here is the ultimate Holiday Watching Party that will bring families together and teach you how to avoid and beat terrorism.
DIE HARD
The much debated Christmas movie....the ultimate debated Christmas movie. Of course this is a Christmas movie. I mean come on, the line "Now I Have a Machine Gun Ho-Ho-Ho seals the deal.
GREMLINS
This all surrounds a Christmas gift gone bad. Of course it is a Christmas movie. Phoebe Cates learns the meaning of the holidays after her dad broke his neck as Santa earlier, all it takes is a bunch of creatures tearing shit up. That says Holidays all over it.
DIE HARD 2
How do you follow up the greatest Christmas movie of all time? Make a sequel and that is what happened here. John McClane is back on duty making sure that jolly red fay ass comes down you Chimney and Drug Dealers aren't allowed in this country.
BATMAN RETURNS
Who knows Christmas more than Tim Burton and when the Caped Crusader shows up fighting Danny Devito's Penguine and the Cat Woman it is bound to be a jolly good time to Jingle your bells
TRADING PLACES
This teaches people the true meaning of the Holidays. It is better to be rich than poor if you can figure it out and to do it you have to defeat racism....I may have a tear.
LETHAL WEAPON
Mel Gibson learns that life is better lived than trying to kill himself....its basically a remake of Its a Wonderful life with guns.
There are a few movies to pop on the old tube, pull out the Microwave popcorn and sit back and fight with the family to. Hey for you single people, impress someone you just met by knowing the difference between imposter films such as Jingle All the Way and films like these.
This is what the Holiday Season is all about and here's to you and yours.
