PHP Inspirations: Dinner for Five

In the early part of this century, which sounds way longer ago than what it is, the Independent Film Channel aired a series by Jon Favreau. Now this was before he was a big time director with films like Iron Man and The Jungle Book and long before he was helping rescue Star Wars with The Mandolorian.

He was known as the Independent Film guy because, predominantly, the film Swingers.

With Dinner for Five, the concept was he and four actors, directors, and/or producers was sit and talk about film while enjoying a nice meal. Stars like Burt Reynolds, Jason Biggs, John Landis, Marilyn Manson, Famke Jannsen, Vince Vaughn, Ben Affleck, and more would sit around and they would share stories and battle scars from the film industry. It was an eye in on the world of Hollywood for many of us on the outside who dreamed of being there. Hearing stories from those of how they broke in and the trials/tribulations they had breaking in inspired many of us to keep going. It inspired us to keep writing our projects, to keep shooting our projects, and to keep on trucking even after disappointment.
