I recently had the opportunity to get one last look at the Lon Chaney Theater in the Colorado Springs City Aud. The whole place is getting a total remodel and although there may still be A Lon Chaney Theater, this one that is almost a century old will not be there. It was a great place that housed the world premiere of Darkness of Day. We had the premiere in October. There were 250 seats in the place and we almost filled every one of them. The rumors of the City Aud being haunted by the old maintenance man who was murdered there in the 1930's added to a little mystique and we had always hoped to bring a few more films there over the years and we just haven't. Lon Chaney was one of the first super stars of the silver screen and his story of growing up in Colorado Springs is very interesting if you ever get a chance to look any of it up. It was his family that started the CS Deaf and Blind School and you probably best know him as the Phantom of the Opera. The Theater will always have a place in the hearts of all of us at Possessed Hand and have a place in the history of Possessed Hand Productions.
