SIYF Crew Reviews Sumo Golf Village

Next to a maximum security prison in Florence CO is a little golf course known as Sumo. This is a course that has grown on us SIYF'ers since the pandemic. It struggles sometimes to stay in good shape because of the wind and weeds around it. It is very spread out with some cool holes but has very little barriers, such as houses or water, to keep some of the weeds out of the fairway....but they do their best. For the most part the course is in good enough shape. When we played it recently one tee box was destroyed but the rest were adequate. What we liked most about this course was the fact that the greens fees has stayed the same while others have gone up 50-100% since the start of covid. There are way more expensive courses in far worse shape and dollar for dollar this is a very good place to play. Don't expect it to be perfect. Just a cool place to tee it and let'er rip.
